Woodrow Wilcox wants to teach what he knows about fighting mistakes and fraud in the Medicare medical billing system. While working at his friend’s insurance agency in northwest Indiana, he has saved clients of the agency over three million dollars.
“I just agreed to come to my friend’s office one day while his receptionist took a day to visit her doctor. I just answered the phone and took messages to give my friend when he arrived. When he did, I told him that four or five of his clients phoned to report that their insurance companies were not paying the bills for claims,” Wilcox stated. “My friend told me what he knew of the problem and what he did to try to help his clients with that problem.”
Wilcox learned that the problem was common but that it was not usually caused by insurance companies. Wilcox suddenly realized that he understood the problem better than his friend who owned the insurance agency. A month later, his friend hired Wilcox to help clients fix the various problems they were having with Medicare related medical bills to keep the clients as happy customers.
“The Medicare system is a humanly designed flawed system which is operated by humans who make mistakes, too,” Wilcox explained. “I just had a talent for tracking the source of the problem and getting others to cooperate to fix it in order not to harm senior citizens financially.”
The insurance agency where Wilcox worked grew from one office with three insurance agents and three staff members to five offices with a dozen insurance agents and almost a dozen staff members. Also, the agency grew to having over 22,000 clients.
“The Medicare system can be so complicated that it overwhelms seniors. I just have a natural ability to ask questions to get answers that lead to solutions,” Wilcox said.
Woodrow Wilcox will turn 70 in October 2024. He has survived two mild strokes and one mild heart attack. He wants to teach others how to help seniors fight bad medical billing in the Medicare system so that his knowledge and skills will live on to help senior citizens even after he passes away. So, he started a website where anyone can read his articles and watch his videos for free. The website is CitizenWoodrow.TV.
“I use the website to teach about helping seniors and commenting on public issues that have bothered me for a long time. I have written over 2,000 articles about problems with the Medicare system and how I fixed the problems for our senior citizen clients. I’m gradually adding articles to the website. If I live long enough, I’ll put all the best articles on the website. But I’m concerned about other things, too. I’ve learned from a friend about the serious topic of human trafficking. I’ve learned that federal tax money is being misspent. Money that is supposed to be used to protect unaccompanied children entering our country is actually being misspent to put those children in harm’s way. Whether people like my comments on anything or not, I’m talking about things that concern me because I care about other people. I guess it’s my method for letting off steam and keeping my blood pressure down,” Wilcox concluded.
