Los Angeles, Ca. Hannah Green won her third LPGA Tournament Sunday after a two hole playoff at Wilshire Country Club. It was her first LPGA title since 2019. Green shot a -2 under par 69 on Sunday that included draining a 25 foot birdie putt on the par 3 final hole to get into the play-off. Both Xiyu Lin and Aditi Ashok each closed the final round with -4 under par 67 on Sunday as all three players ended up with birdies on the final hole to finish at -9 for the Tournament and force a three way play-off. Green and Lin each birdied the first play-off hole, the 156 yard par three 18th, to eliminate Ashok. On the second play-off hole, back at hole 18 again, Lin was in a green side bunker and ended up with an 18 foot putt for par. When Lin missed the putt, Green tapped in for par to win the play-off.
Green took home $450 Thousand Dollars of the Three Million Dollar purse for the victory. The 27th ranked Green was excited with the win. “It has been a long few years,” said Green. ” Obliviously really happy, but the other emotions are coming out right. I proud of myself, really happy,” said Green as tears were rolling down her cheeks. Greens last LPGA win was at the Portland Classic.
The J M Eagle L.A. Open was broadcast live each day on the Golf Channel.
