How to Commemorate October 7 This Year

By: Jonathan Feldstein

Jerusalem, Israel, September 10, 2025… With October 7 around the corner, marking two years since the savage Hamas attack, massacre of 1200, and kidnapping of 251 people of whom 48 are still in captivity in Gaza, the Genesis 123 Foundation is calling on all churches and synagogues to join in commemorating this tragic anniversary.

Two years of war, bereavement, and trauma have taken its toll on Israel. Israel is still in the midst of the war, so long term recovery is that much further away. Referring to the compounded traumas, Genesis 123 Foundation President, Jonathan Feldstein refers to a different kind of PTSD, “Present Trauma Stress Disorder.” This was underscored by a mass casualty terrorist attack in Jerusalem on Monday, and Houthi drone attack on one of Israel’s southern airports on Sunday as well as the sirens in his own community indicating the threat of Houthi drones 11000 miles from Yemen.

Noting the unprecedented support from Christians around the world for Israel and the Jewish people who are also suffering widespread antisemitism across the world, Feldstein is calling on all churches, synagogues, and local, national, and international groups and ministries to take part in a global remembrance and prayer on and around October 7.

Feldstein notes, “Few Israelis are not impacted. Few are not suffering personally or don’t know someone who is. All Israelis are suffering financially as prices and taxes have spiked. Many jobs have been lost. Hundreds of thousands of reservists were called up October 7, two years ago. Many have served hundreds of days since then, leaving behind spouses, children, parents, siblings, as well as jobs and businesses. There’s hardly any aspect of Israeli society that is not impacted.”

We are asking all good people of conscience to make a commitment to do something meaningful to commemorate this horrible anniversary.” The Genesis 123 Foundation is suggesting several possible ideas.

·         Pray: join countless churches and synagogues and individuals to pray for the hostages and their families, soldiers and their families, the family of victims, everyone suffering loss and trauma, and that God will change the hearts of Israel’s enemies.

·         Donate: The Israel Emergency Campaign remains one of the most impactful ways to give and make a difference with integrity and low overhead. https://genesis123foundation.revv.co/00014

·         Speak out: Know the truth and speak out against the lies and allegations against Israel, with the simple clarity that Hamas and its genocidal goals to annihilate Israel started this war, and Hamas has the power to release the hostages, lay down its arms, and end it for the well being of Israel and the Gazans.

·         Send your love: share public posts and private messages to Israelis and Israeli institutions, and local Jewish communities, simply showing unconditional love and support.

·         Host a briefing to share the truth: Since October 7, 2023, the Genesis 123 Foundation has done dozens of briefings and is prepared to join you to do more, and share a personal message from Israel with others you know so all are connected.

On Saturday October 4, at 9:00pm Israel time, 2:00pm Eastern/11:00am Pacific (US), the Genesis 123 Foundation will host a webinar with an in depth and personal view from Israel two years since the Hamas massacre. Registration is required and open here.

Feldstein has also been booked for a series of private briefings and interviews and will make himself available for others as well.

Since October 8, 2023, the Genesis 123 Foundation has undertaken a wide range of projects as part of its Israel Emergency Campaign. It has raised millions and funded projects for soldiers, families of soldiers, hostages, and families of hostages who have been rescued, families who have been evacuated from war zones, feeding Israelis who are struggling financially, and much more.

It has also radically promoted the true solution for peace in Gaza at www.solutionforpeaceingaza.com.

“Our goal is and always has been to make the biggest impact with the greatest integrity. And thank God, and thanks to many generous people around the world, we have done that,” Feldstein noted.  “We will continue to be the reliable address and voice of truth, and to do so always building bridges between Jews and Christians and Christians with Israel in ways that are new, unique, and meaningful.”

“Please don’t let this October 7 pass without some public recognition of what we continue to be fighting for and the tremendous needs in Israel.”

While this month’s appeal is primarily for general support, Feldstein added that “donations are always welcome and make a big impact, however more than an appeal for donations, this is an appeal for you to be active, to put tangible action behind your support for Israel at this critical time. This month, for those who do donate, we will invite all donors to send their own prayers which I will be honored to place in the cracks of the Western Wall on their behalf.”
