Trinity Theatre Company continues their 12th Grown Up Stage (GUS) season under the guidance of Artistic Director, Sean Boyd, with I Love You Because, with music by Joshua Salzman, book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham and directed by Bobby Imperato with music direction by Danny Myers.
I Love You Because features San Diego Actors Connor Boyd as Austin, Dylan Landau as Marcy, Tim Barron as Jeff, Jordan Campbell as Diana, Lindsay Bates as Ensemble and Josalyn Amodeo as Ensemble. The production runs from March 29th – April 21st. Trinity Theatre Company performs at their Mission Valley location in the Mission Valley Mall. I Love You Because is a modern love story told through the eyes of four New Yorkers as they navigate the minefield of love in a big city. After two disastrous breakups, Marcy and Austin find themselves working together to reunite Austin with his girlfriend, but naturally, things don’t go as planned. Underscored by fun and witty music, I Love You Because shows us what happens if you let go of your expectations and open your heart to what life really has to offer. Based on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, a small but mighty cast of six take the stage to show the different ways love can present itself when you least expect it.
Director Bobby Imperato shared “This show navigates the highs and lows of love, friendship, and everything in between. The music sweeps you off your feet, the jokes tickle your funny bone, and the heartfelt moments tug at your heartstrings.
