Faith-Friendly Distributor to Premiere Peek at Upcoming Releases for 2023-24
During NRB 2023’s Television Showcase
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 20, 2023) – Winter Star Productions will premiere new promos for two of its
upcoming faith-friendly documentary features on Monday, May 22, at the 2023 National Religious Broadcasters Convention (NRB 2023) during the Television Showcase, to be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. ET in Magnolia 11 at the Orlando World Center Marriott at 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, Florida.
Due to release in September 2023 is the powerful documentary, I Hate You…But It’s Killing ME, which shines a light on people who have found healing after their lives were destroyed by hate. The film, from producer/director Lukas Behnken (Mully) of Sterling Light Productions, includes interviews with New York Times best-selling author and psychologist, Dr. John Townsend (Boundaries); renowned Civil Rights leader, pastor, and best-selling author, Dr. John Perkins (One Blood: Parting Words to the Church on Race), and more.
The second film, due to release in 2024, is the UFO/UAP documentary, UFOs and God, from producers Paul Arroyo and Bill Myers of Amaris Media International and the directing/producing team of Wes and Amanda Llewellyn. The film features interviews with astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross; award-winning Christian author and talk show host, Greg Koukl (the founder of Christian apologetics organization, Stand to Reason), and more. This thought-provoking documentary makes a strong challenge to the new worldview presented by films currently streaming on Amazon, Netflix, and The History Channel, which hint that intergalactic space travelers have better answers to the basic questions of life than Christianity offers.
In addition, Winter Star Productions will also screen trailers for two of its faith-friendly narrative features currently available on Amazon and Google.
The first, Secret Agent Dingledorf and His Trusty Dog Splat: The Case of the Giggling Geeks, is a live-action kids adventure full of family-friendly values from director Billy Dickson (Believe) and best-selling author and C.S. Lewis Honor Award winner Bill Myers (McGee and Me, Adventures in Odyssey). This funny and inspirational movie starring Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill) and Jason Dolley (Good Luck Charlie) follows three spy kids and their dog as they try to stop evil clowns from taking over the world.
The second, Final Frequency, is a sci-fi thriller about the lost notebook of Nikola Tesla falling into the wrong hands. Produced by John David Ware and starring Charles Shaughnessy (The Nanny) and Lou Ferrigno, Jr. (SWAT), the story follows a PhD candidate as she tries to prevent rogue scientists from using Tesla’s secret formulas to set off an earthquake under L.A. during a G-20 summit.
“The goal of films like these is to provide thoughtful, fun, clean crossover entertainment, both for believers and those outside the church,” says Winter Star Productions founder and president, Derrick Warfel. “They also provide solutions for the growing hate problem in our society, give scientific and biblical answers to the UFO/UAP question; give kids a fun romp and teach them to treat everyone with respect, and show the dangers of the evolutionary theory today which says all creation is merely a product of time and chance.”
