168 Film Project Announces Angel Studios Collaboration

Los Angeles, CA- Aug. 01, 2023 – This year, for the 20th Annual 168 Film Project, a short filmmaking
competition, up to 10 films will be invited for a first look by the Angel Studios Guild for
development, funding, and distribution consideration.

“Angel Studios sends its best wishes to all 168 filmmakers, and we are excited for the Angel
Guild to screen the top creators,” said Angel Studios SVP of Global Distribution, Jared Geesey.

Filmmakers may sign up at 168film.com/project. The deadline is Sept. 4 and speed film
production week is Sept. 15-22. Upon invitation, top 168 films may become a “torch” in the
Angel Guild system. Learn more about torches here.

Torches receive an aggregate score from the Angel Guild, a community of hitmakers from
around the world, that choose the titles that Angel Studios will distribute next.

The Angel Guild consists of nearly one hundred thousand members who have subscribed or
invested in an Angel Studios original series or film. The Guild score indicates excitement level
and potential for further development and distribution. Corresponding data, film scores and
feedback from the Angel Guild voting process will be shared with the 168 invited producers.

Geesey continued, “All of our projects are greenlit by the guild. That is what sets Angel apart.
Our community lets us know firsthand what projects they are passionate about.”

According to 168 Founder/Director, John David Ware, “We are very excited to see our artists
succeed. The top ‘168’ filmmakers deserve the chance to be seen and heard.”

“168” films are judged based on quality of story, filmmaking and “Scriptural Integration,” how
well the film is built on a foundational Bible verse. All 168 entry types are eligible, including
Speed Film/Student Speed, Alumni, Write of Passage, Documentary, KidVid, Animation, and
Proof of Concept. See “168” Entry Types here: 168film.com/film-project/entry-types.

Submission to the Angel Guild does not guarantee funding or distribution. Films must comply
with the Angel Guild Torch guidelines. For details on the Angel Studios Guild submission
process, visit angel.com/create.
