NRB Preparing to Welcome Vice President Mike Pence to Proclaim 18 Convention

MIke Pence

WASHINGTON (NRB) – The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) will be holding its 75th annual Convention February 27-March 2 in Nashville, Tennessee, and is preparing to welcome U.S. Vice President Mike Pence as a speaker.

“We have been in communication with the Vice President’s office concerning our invitation to him to speak at our closing gala, March 2,” said Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of NRB. “We are encouraged by what we’ve heard. Given the nature of the Vice President’s schedule, his participation can’t be confirmed this far in advance, but we are optimistic that he’ll be joining us at Proclaim 18 – our association’s 75th annual Convention.”

As a Congressman from Indiana, Pence was honored in 2009 with NRB’s prestigious Faith & Freedom Award. The association annually presents the award to a stalwart defender of religious liberty at its Capitol Hill Media Summit, the annual gathering of the NRB President’s Council in Washington, D.C.

Every year, the NRB International Christian Media Convention draws a wide range of participants, including radio and TV station owners and operators, pastors, church media professionals, radio and TV program producers, college educators, students, filmmakers, web and mobile developers, social media managers, book publishers and authors, marketing representatives, and ministry staff members.

Confirmed speakers this year include ministry leaders Rick Warren, Kay Arthur, David Jeremiah, Luis Palau, and Billy Kim; actors Jim Caviezel, Dennis Quaid, Stephen Baldwin, and filmmaker Alex Kendrick; radio talk show hosts Larry Elder, Eric Metaxas, and Dennis Prager; TV personalities Megan Alexander, Kirsten Haglund, and Kelly Wright; Mike Lindell, Inventor and Founder of MyPillow; author and speaker Joel C. Rosenberg; and many more. Twin brothers and entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham will emcee the Convention.

“Thousands come to our Convention each year to find connections, resources, and insights that will help them advance their mission, their organizations, and their careers,” said Johnson. “If you’re in the ministry of reaching people for Jesus Christ through media, this is a must-attend event.”

Proclaim 18A highlight of the annual gathering is the bustling Exposition, the world’s largest marketplace dedicated to Christian media and ministry professionals seeking to harness the power of electronic media to spread the Gospel. Showcasing their products and services will be around 200 companies, ministries, and organizations, including broadcasters, nonprofits, educational institutions, publishers, media agencies, and broadcast equipment and software companies. Also on the Expo floor in 2018 will be Titanium Convention Sponsor Liberty Health Share and Platinum Sponsor Museum of the Bible, which returns this year with an exhibit showcasing images and video of its newly opened museum in Washington, D.C.

Other highlights include Super Sessions; industry sessions focused on church media, digital media, film, international ministry, radio, and TV; the Learning Arena; the industry networking reception; the CV 24-hour student production competitions; the film pitch-a-thon; the Special Israel Session celebrating the 70th anniversary of the modern state of Israel; musical performances by artists including Mercy Me, Fernando Ortega, and Michael W. Smith; presentation of NRB’s 2018 media awards; and film screenings. Among the films being screened at Proclaim 18 are God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness, I Can Only Imagine, One Nation Under God, Staines, and Paul, Apostle of Christ.

Proclaim 18 will take place February 27-March 2 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, while NRB’s award-winning Exposition – featuring around 200 exhibitors – will be open February 28-March 2.
