CLAREMORE, OK, April 2, 2018 | TruthPR.com | – Mercy Chefs, a national, disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization is onsite in Rogers County, Oklahoma and is prepared to feed 2,500 at-risk students for the duration of the week. Schools in Rogers County will not be serving breakfast or lunch during the teachers’ walkout leaving the 52% of students in the county, who rely upon school meals for their nutrition without a guaranteed meal source. In response, Mercy Chefs is partnering with The Claremore Ministerial Alliance to carry out “Operation Lunchbox” and ensure no child goes hungry.
Mercy Chefs will prepare and distribute 2,500 hot lunches daily from the headquarters at Claremore First United Methodist Church located at 1615 OK-88 Claremore, Oklahoma. This will serve as the distribution center for all meals to sixteen other locations throughout Rogers County. Volunteers are needed, and Mercy Chefs is accepting donations on their website: www.mercychefs.com to help cover the cost of meals.
