“The Man for All Seasons” – President Trump”

Psychiatrist Rahim Shafa Analyzes the War in Iran

Sir Thomas More was known as “The Man for All Seasons” in the motion picture that
rocked the screen about his denial of Henry the VIII as King of England, who would go on
to lose his head over the marriage to Ann Boleyn.
He was a lawyer and Lord Chancellor of
England and much like President Trump who has had to both rule and defend himself in the
courts. I recently interviewed Dr. Rahim Shafa, MD on the subject from jail.

I found that as someone born as an Iranian, (an “American by choice,”) who left Iran decades
ago in disagreement with the revolutionary government that has suffocated Iran since 1979, recent events in the news were important to him as an independent observer. He said the following.

“To be able to analyze the outcome of the recent war with Iran, one needs to have a better understanding of the President. Mr. Trump is an American patriot and a visionary, further and be yond many Republicans who claim to be a MAGA supporter. The reality is that many of the senators and the house representative, if it was not because of gerrymandering, or the political might of Mr. Trump they would not even be elected. These people operate on nearsightedness and are incapable of seeing the far horizon.

Strong leaders are visionaries, unlike what many of the followers think, those leaders DO NOT FOLLOW THEIR FOLLOWERS, THEY LEAD THE NATION THROUGH NEW HORIZONS OF THE FUTURE.

If George Washington did not act as a visionary, he would have been immersed within the bickering between Boston vs. Marble head, and if he did not coin the greater vision the concept of “The United States of America” as oppose to rebellion colonies, there would have not been any USA today. By the same token, if Lincoln did not act as a visionary, slavery still would’ve continued and the flame of feud between north and south would have not been put off, if JFK was not a visionary we wouldn’t have any space program today. Mr. Trump came to power of his first term when the drum of re-flaming the cold war was getting loud and louder. He brought the strange idea of shaking hands with Putin. Before his second term the same nearsighted political clout, they were pushing for full scale war against Russia in support of Ukraine and truly so Biden reminded them :” Guys you are talking about 3rd world war ! “

President Trump has shown a lot of patience with Putin and Zelenskyy; he is looking to a “war free Europe”. In case of Iran, he adopted the most crippling sanctions and for temporary basis followed the sentiment strongly pursued by the crowds of war mongers Republicans and democrats.

It was the same phenomenon that afflicted democrats when JFK chose not to go to war with
Khrushchev over the Cuban missiles crisis and they went as far as coercing JFK to do the “Bay
of PIGS” but all based on false news, hoping to trigger a war with the Soviet Union. Needless to
say it was Kennedy’s decision which made too many people angry that resulted in his assassination, continuation of Vietnam war for another decade and up rise of social rebellion in the US.
But on the other side the fruits of JFK intervention, helped open up an ongoing dialogue with the
Soviets, allowed Nixon to achieve landmark nuclear disarmament treaty with Brezhnev, continued with Reagan and Gorbachev treaties and the fall of the Berlin Wall. History testifies, that win was not fruit of a military intervention.

Iran is a very unique country on the globe with significant geopolitical values. Simply one
manipulation of Straits of Hormuz proved its unique value, in the recent confrontation with the
US.

If when General Marshal offered his plan for peace to rebuild a long list of countries Germany
and Japan were not included on the same package as allied Europe countries, they would not
have turned from staunch enemies into our strongest and most reliable allies. By the same token Marshall plan was criticized by the same nearsighted, war mongers crowd who were advocating for annihilation and more bombing, but General Marshall proposed settlement instead of further destruction. His plan was also extended to China and the Soviet Union, but Churchill, whose his political survival depended on war, instead coined the concept of “cold war” which heavily influenced the implementation of the plan, resulting to a strained relationship with the two powers today contrary to the then enemies Japan and Germany neither of which since then show any interest in building an aggressive army.

As a visionary President Trump sees an opportunity for a lasting peace and meaningful cessation of all hostilities in the current peace negotiation. This is a paradigm difference from Obama’s plan which had left Iran as an oppressed nation, leaving no pathway for reintegration as an equal partner into the main stream world affairs. Whereas cessation of all hostilities, for the long lasting peace is imbedded in Trump’s plan. Ending any military excursion into Lebanon, instituting the $300 Billion dollars fund for restoring destruction caused by the current war, and removal of all sanctions against Iran, aiming for a durable peace, as President Trump plans. If this plan goes through it will be perceived as the gift from the United States, to Iran unlike what happened with the Obama plan. It opens the doors of constructive relationship, mutual trust which opens Iran to the US market, giving America a pivotal role in rebuilding Iran and leads to continuous open dialogue with potentials to bring back the amicable relationship through course of time, the same way the US, built one with the post-war Germany. It has the place to tell those who are prescribing bombing Iran to dust that history taught us the opening of McDonald in Moscow contributed more to Yeltsin’s revolution than the US nuclear missiles.

Iran has significant history of close relationship with the US. It was the Tehran conference
when FDR was the only one amongst all allied forces, respected Iran’s sovereignty, called Iran
“The Bridge to Victory” and promised assistance in rebuilding post-war Iran, despite hostilities
Iran was facing from the Soviet Union and the British Colonist’ Army. The US imposed a deci
sive political force on behalf of Iran to flush out the Red Army out of Azerbaijan Iran. The trust
between the two nations strengthened. Mossadegh, as the independent Prime Minister of Iran
who as engineer and protector of true democracy in Iran, developed a trusting relationship with
President Harry Truman. But it was Churchill who as a measure to save his political position
protected the dying flame of British Colonialism. Following Eisenhower’s election, he went to
the White House and stayed for a week, falsely arguing that Iran was on its way to become
Communist, convinced the new politically unexperienced President to accept his plan and to
participate in the coup de etat, against democracy in Iran which resulted in an ever lasting bad
blood. Despite all that, the coup against democracy did not save Churchill’s political demise,
but planted a bitter seed of mistrust between the two countries of USA and Iran, what even to
day Mr. Trump is trying to repair, for which Trump recently even offered to meet with the
Iran’s supreme leader.

It is ironic that today with the courageous’ act of wisdom President Trump is showing for
the future of America and to assure a safe, long lasting peace and security for Israel
through demand of absolute cessation of all hostilities and for prosperity of The US and
the world economy.
Netanyahu is playing Churchill for his own personal political survival by
fanning the fire, through attacking Lebanon, despite Hezbollah is repeatedly stating that they are
willing to abide by the Peace Treaty in full. Whereas a short sighted political agreement or so
called cease fire treaty, (something like what happened after the Korean war), which does not
address the fundamental problem issues between the two nations, instead of bringing safety
and security only creates a forum for arm race until the next break out of the fire, but for each
side with stronger and more destructive weapons, on each side for the hope of a better win for
the next war!

We saw this as result of the Obama’s Treaty when the United States began to develop new
stronger bunker buster bomb, and Iran invested on better missiles. Whereas a meaningful
Peace Treaty of the kind President Trump is looking after, will put an end to all mutual hostilities,
opens market and economic trade between the two countries (before 1979 revolution Iran’s volume of trade with the US was comparable the whole western Europe). If President Trump implemented the way the President plans, it secures peace, puts end to majority of terrorism activities, secures Israel, Lebanon and it puts out the fire throughout the entire Middle East.

The nearsighted Senators i.e.; Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz complain of $300 Billion which
the Gulf countries will finance for repair of war destruction, whereas it is projected that the Is
lamic Revolution has cost Iran $15 Trillion dollars; a market if not hindered by the nearsighted political players, it bears fruits of prosperity, peace and ever strengthening sense of friendship
between USA and Iran. Creation of such an atmosphere will be conducive to a palatable regime
change and rebirth of democracy, similar to what world noticed in the post-war Spain and Italy,
by weakening the basis of the hardliners in Iran. Noticing the fact that in Obama’ treaty, the Iran
government factions asked for close to one thousand Green Cards for their own families,
demonstrates that the position of hard liners is on decline.

They are not aware that the timing Mr. Trump chose for war was at such a critical moment
in history: as evidenced by the fact that China has been infiltrating the Persian Gulf since
the Obama Treaty.
During the years of Nixon’s tenure Iran achieved the status of “The Most
Favored Nation” because of Iran’s reliability and trustworthy. President Trump is trying to make
that a reality, knowing that Iran will be the most reliable ally to the US in controlling China and
Russia.

Moreover, the resilience of Iran and the history of her past friendly relationship with the US,
makes the possibility to court her back to become a reliable ally to to USA. Even during the
throughout the history of the past 15 or so years of occasional arm conflicts with the US, Iran
remained “a rational player”. Whereas, through Nobel prize worthy lasting peace with Iran
Trump neutralizes them all.

At the final analysis, it is the duty of any patriot who would like to see American prosperity and
power surpassing all her competitors, to support our brave leader President Trump on his vi
sionary mission to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

The current situation is that Dr. Shafa, a respected physician in the Boston area has fallen victim to excessive over-regulation. Medication that dramatically helps drug addiction is approved by the FDA and all authorities for administration in tablet form by mouth or by injection. But a time-release pellet in the skin is proven to be more effective at curbing and ending addiction quickly and strongly. This cuts into Big Pharma’s profits by ending addiction faster. Therefore, the DOJ prosecuted Dr. Shafa, authorized to prescribe controlled medication, for writing lawful prescriptions for an FDA approved drug administered in time-release form. Dr. Shafa was sentenced to Three years in jail. Hundreds of colleagues and patients have submitted letters of support for him. There is a July 13th Re- Sentencing Hearing in the Woburn, Massachusetts Court to determine if the Judge was overly harsh. Please pray for his attorney Martin Weinberg and Judge Margaret Guzman. Let’s pray that President Trump or Ed Martin will pardon him. The Bible in Isaiah 53 says that “Jesus Christ was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our Iniquities and the chastisement of our peace is upon His shoulders and by His stripes we are healed.” On this 250th anniversary of America, may America by healed and may God’s judgment prevail.
