27-year-old Michal Ohana said: “It wasn’t a war… We were like ducks. Sitting ducks on a range.”

35-year-old Shani Hadar said: “They called the parents of a woman who was kidnapped, and said, ‘Your daughter is alive, we’re going to rape her.’ These are beasts.”

Tensions South and North: Israel is forming an emergency unity government that will include formed IDF chief-of-staff Benny Gantz and his National Unity Party, which had been in opposition.

It has now emerged that Hamas’s original plan was to conquer and hold the region of Israel around Gaza, destroying or enslaving the entire civilian population. Only a faster than expected Israeli response prevented events from being even worse.

Israel is massing troops near Gaza, including called up reservists, near Gaza and prohibiting unauthorized entry for civilians to the region, as it weights its options.

In Northern Israel, millions fled to shelters on Wednesday after apparently false reports about drone and paratroop penetration of the northern frontier; clashes continue but no all-out second front. 

Anti-Israel Activists Celebrate Murder: Anti-Israel groups around the world have latched onto the symbolism of the paragliders who attacked the music festival as a way to celebrate the murder of Jews.

Student groups at campuses like California State University in Long Beach have crafted posters with this symbol in calling for an anti-Israel “National Day of Resistance.”

Black Lives Matter Chicago posted a similar image on social media, raising concerns that this vile image and everything it invokes is being normalized as a progressive symbol.
